At Al Maaref Private School, we strive to help students reach their full potential. We believe that behavior plays a key role in student achievement and development. We must encourage students to make positive choices and take responsibility for their actions; therefore, we have developed our school-wide behavior policy to reflect this. We must help students understand and display appropriate School Rules:
- Physical or verbal violence is strictly forbidden.
- Listen with respect.
- Follow instructions.
- Raise hand to speak.
- Keep the school safe and tidy.
- Provide good quality teaching.
- Set clear expectations of students ‘behaviour.
- Maintain an orderly classroom.
- Avoid raised voices and aggressive body language.
- Make specific constructive, positive comments.
- Encourage students to set their own goals and maintain a sense of responsibility.
- Establish consistent classroom procedures.
- Give clear explanations.
- Set learning objectives and work requirements out clearly.
- Monitor progress carefully.
- Give feedback about student’s work frequently and regularly.
- Give clear instructions so activities run smoothly.
- Handle misbehaviour quickly and calmly so the pace of the lesson is not lost.
- Listen carefully and react appropriately.
- Draw to parents' attention children's achievements in work and behaviour.
- Provide rewards through praise, compliments and commendations for good attitudes and conduct.
