A bit confused about the license exchange policy
ing student with a resident visa (though no Emirates ID yet) and I have a Canadian G2 driver's license. I called up the RTA and spoke to them on the online chat and both of them said that only G is acceptable for conversion(for G2, I have to take classes). However, I found a document (link below) from the UAE MOFA which states that a G2 license can be converted as long as it's been a year since it was issued (which mine is). Who is considered correct here: the UAE MOFA/ Abu Dhabi or the RTA? If I indeed have to go to a driving school, how can I convince them to let me take the exams directly?
