Profile: The timber business went in overdrive throughout the 70s and 80s with the bulk of the business constituting exports to Iraq including local sales on account of the construction boom in UAE. It is during these times Mr. Ali diversified into steel trading and decided to try his luck in the industrial sector with the launch of a steel fabrication company, fiberglass & joinery works and builders hardware supply co.In the 90s with the slow down of construction in the UAE and sanctions on Iraq, the timber trading business was gradually replaced with the steel and scrap trading which forms the bulk of the companys trade today. As the chairman rightly put it Companies have to evolve with the changing times.Today Naaz General Trading Co. LLC is a member of Naaz Group of companies with investments in Real Estate, Iron Ore, Nickel and Coal Mining, Scrap Platinum and Precious Metals Recycling. It Trades in specific products in timber and plywood. Maintains inventories and stocks of Fasteners and specific builders hardware in its yards in Rashidiya and Ghusais. Naaz Industry LLC a sister concern of NGTC operates its own Coil Center, Steel and Sheet Metal Fabrication unit, and complements the steel trading business of NGTC by providing value addition to the steel where required besides engaged its own manufacturing activity. NGTC works with local small and medium sized Carpentery and Joinery Workshops due to its relation ship of supplying timber and plywood to these SMEs to provide cost effective and good quality of value added wood and wood based products to customers in the MENA region.Moving in line with the strict Islamic financing, the group abandoned all bank finance in 1990 and today it pursues a zero interest (Riba) policy when it comes to any financial transactions.Our Staff strength is over 80 employees. We own and operate 2 warehouses in U.A.E. We sub-contract our steel handling and trucking facilities to specialized companies to ensure smooth deliveries to our customers.Our vision is to excel in what we do but maintain our simplistic approach to business, provide flexible options to customers and never compromise on our trade reputation of being a rock solid company as solid as the ground below us.
